Ever felt the urge to throw off your inhibitions and release the glamourpuss from within? Well now’s your chance! Established international performer Cherry Shakewell will provide you with all the essential elements you’ll need to build a sexy and confident burlesque routine.

BE TAUGHT BY A REAL STAR OF THE CABARET SCENE! Cherry has over thirty years performing experience and has been teaching burlesque for over fifteen years. Over this time, she has learnt how to create an easy relaxed atmosphere in the studio and how to help you to express your individual character in your routine.

Step-by step you will learn how to tantalise and tease pose and please (and for the bravest among you the option to master the fine art of tassel twirling)! Learn the art of Burlesque where you can also watch some of the finest burlesque in town, all under the unique magical setting of The Spiegeltent.

What to wear… clothes you can move in heels you can strut in and a splash of glamour never goes amiss! Cherry will provide the group with boas and gloves but if you have your own gloves and tassels then pop them in your handbag too…

This is open to Women/Trans/Non-Binary of any level and it is a non-nudity burlesque class. Brighton Spiegeltent is a safe space for all, and you will be in the privacy of the venues during the workshops.

Stay until the end and if you so desire for those who dare, Cherry will provide a pair of her very own hand-crafted tassels, for those of you wanting to give twirling a whirl! They will be on sale at a special price of £10. The tassels themselves normally retail at £25 in the shops she stocks so you’re saving yourself some pennies and getting a dazzling burlesque star to show you how to shake ‘em!
