Future Jazz At The Spiegeltent returns in 2024 for a night of explosive contemporary jazz, featuring two of the UK’s finest up-and-coming young jazz ensembles.

Expect searing melodies, dreamy textures and afro-latin grooves.

COLECTIVA explore the spaces between Afro-Latin music and Jazz while reflecting on themes of sisterhood and female empowerment.

Blending deep Latin groove, experimental textures, wild horn lines and thoughtful arrangements, COLECTIVA’s fresh compositions are rooted in the sounds of Africa, Latin America and the diaspora.

Their debut single, Under The, written in collaboration with jazz pianist Maria Grapsa and released on Movimientos, within one week received widespread support from platforms including Sounds and Colours, Worldwide FM, Soho Radio and Women in Jazz.

Winners of the Latin American UK Awards as ‘Best Alternative Act’ 2019.

THE COLOSSALS are a jazz-funk five-piece taking influence from Snarky Puppy, Casiopea, The Brecker Brothers and Marcus Miller, to name a few.

Their sound combines a tight rhythmic foundation with searing melodies and dreamy textures, creating a platform for experimentation and improvisation, they strive to push the boundaries of instrumental funk and groove-based music.

Formed of Fin Millard (drums), Cara Joshi (bass), Max Barnard (saxophone), Josh McGregor (baritone guitar) & Dan Fawcett (guitar) they began playing together because of their love for music with grooves that you can’t help but dance to, and melodies that you can’t help but sing back. Their explosive live shows are unforgettable and unmistakable, they demonstrate a high level of tightness developed from hours of playing together.
